"My name is Niles and I'm a Big, Brave Flyball Dog!
|
Niles was sprung from the hoosegow (aka: pet store) by Jan at 5
months of age. His months of incarceration had taken their toll and he
was a shell of a pup. He was afraid to even move at first. Most outlaws
would have parted company with him straight away, but not his new
found pardner, Jan. She refused to give up on him and in her care he
started to come around. With Jan he got over his fears and began to
enjoy getting out and doing new things.
Jan introduced him to Flyball racing, but he wasn't too sure about it at
first. A ball smacking him in the face while learning the box had him
rethinking this whole flyball game. They kept training and he finally
got the hang of it. He has had some ups and downs, but he keeps
going. Niles loves flyball and likes racing with the other dogs on the
team. We're glad they stuck with it because Niles is a valued member
of the team now.

In the lineup, he's one cool cocker
spaniel, but watch out. Looks are
deceiving with this little guy. He's
serious about racing and he wants to
beat the dog in the other lane. When
Niles races, he really flies!
Niles holds the record for the fastest American Cocker Spaniel in U-FLI!
